Dede Tham

About me

"I’m Dede Tham, a Distinction-honours mental health and special education professional with a background spanning nursing, counselling, learning disorders, and clinical research. I hold postgraduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs (UK) and Psychology with Counselling (UK and Singapore), as well as clinical training including learning-support therapy. Professionally, I’ve worked across hospital-based and community settings, including roles as a Research Nurse at NUS, an Early Intervention Teacher, and a Lecturer/Adjunct Lecturer. Since 2019, I’ve taken on leadership in special education and youth learning support—currently as Head of the Education Department at Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home—designing inclusive, flexible learning plans, coordinating specialized interventions, and providing vocational and academic pathway guidance. I can share practical insights on counselling-aligned learning strategies, evidence-based support, and career development."
