About me

"Kai Yang brings over 7 years of sports business consulting and professional services experience, alongside more than a decade in high-performance sport. As an industry consultant, he regularly engages with senior leadership, addresses complex client queries, and drives end-to-end strategic planning and project delivery leading to strong go-to-market outcomes. A National Athlete for over 15 years, Kai Yang has won 3 SEA Games Gold medals and two 5th place finishes at the Asian Games. He most recently led the team to debut at the World Aquatics Championships where they finished 15th. He was captain of the National Men's Water Polo Team of Singapore since 2020 till his retirement from the sport in August 2025. Under his tenure, the team rose to a historic global ranking of 26th. Beyond high performance sport, he is also a firm believer of sports as a force for social good and national pride. He actively advocates for sports through various appointments such as member of the Singapore Aquatics' Athletes' Commission; board member of the Singapore Sports Institute (SSI) - Institutional Review Board, where he helps review, enforce, and advocate for clear ethical standards and participant welfare for all research conducted by SSI; and vice-president of Fencing Singapore (FS), where he provides guidance on strategic partnerships and corporate strategy."
