About me

"I'm Derrick, Lab Manager at SpexSG Sport Excellence Singapore, where I oversee the Sport Biomechanics Laboratory, ensuring the systems, processes, and operations run smoothly in support of our TeamSG elite athletes. With an engineering background, my passion for sports brought me into this field and has kept me here ever since. A footballer and team player at heart, and also a musician in me (a former rock band guitarist) — much like in rock music, I believe in resilience and always showing up with energy and heart. From the iconic Kallang Stadium to the Singapore Sports Hub today, I've been part of an exciting high performance journey. With over 20 years in this field, I've learned that change is something to embrace, not fear — and recently achieving my PMI certification is proof that it's never too late to keep growing.
