About the video
Watch how a Marine Surveyor inspects everything to do with a vessel, from its documentation to the critical machinery!
About the job
Marine Surveyors conduct inspections of ships for classification purposes. On behalf of the Flag State, they may also carry out statutory ship surveys on statutory items. (Statutory: required by the law)(Flag State: the country where the ship is registered in)
Note
Marine Surveyors have two roles! They represent the classification society (see FAQ) and are inspectors on the Flag State’s behalf. They also ensure that the ship’s construction abides by the classification society rules.
