    Entry Requirements
    • Minimally 5 GCE "O" Level Credits or a Nitec to be a Direct-Entry Sergeant and a bachelor's degree to be a Direct-Entry Inspector.
    • You have to be physically fit to be a Police Officer! A minimum pass standard is required for IPPT, and a PES Status of A or B1 is needed for males.

    Police Sergeants undergo 6 months of residential training, including defence tactics, physical training, criminal law and preparation to become Ground Response Force Officers.

    Meanwhile, Police Inspectors begin with 9 months of residential training, with similar training on top of leadership development, criminal investigation lessons and further leadership training which includes an overseas segment.
  • Where will Police Officers be posted to after training?

    Sergeants may get posted to a Neighbourhood Police Centre as frontline officers to gain operational experience and leadership skills. They may then get posted to other departments which may include frontline duties, investigations or intelligence.

    Inspectors can expect regular rotations that give them opportunities to explore various operations in the force. They are positioned in various functional areas such as Frontline Policing, Investigation, Command and Staff.
