Statisticians are responsible for gathering and compiling Statistics in one or more fields and for developing new systems and indicators to support users' Statistical requirements.

  • Compile statistics and develop new systems and statistical indicators.
  • Manage, analyse, and make sense of data from various sources.
  • Assess and prepare reports on statistical findings and data trends.
  • Design and refine methodologies and optimise statistical processes.
  • Derive insights from data to support policy-making decisions.
  • Contribute quality and timely data that play a key role in Singapore’s economy and society and facilitate planning and policy-making.

Note

While quantitative analysis is fundamental to their work, Statisticians are also expected to possess critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.
