Oversees the technical operations and maintenance, compliance and safety, and cost management of assigned ships. Ensures the seaworthiness and technical reliability of ships, compliance with applicable regulations, crew performance, and cost effectiveness of ships as the on-shore contact for ship management.
- Carry out regular data analysis of costs, planned maintenance systems, and other key performance indicators to improve the operational health of assigned vessels.
- Formulate dynamic work plans and action lists with the vessel's command to ensure ships are maintained in accordance with the ship owner's policies and regulatory requirements.
- Visit vessels as required to assess their general condition, crew performance, safety compliance, and environmental protection measures, reporting findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare technical specifications for dry-dockings, support pre-purchase inspections, and assist in technical analysis for new vessel acquisitions.
Note
Nature of Work
You manage vessel operations from shore, taking a strategic view to protect both crew and assets to ensure the timely and safe delivery of cargo.Key Advice
To navigate the future of shipping, one needs to be curious and stay ahead of technological advancements, decarbonisation and global regulatory changes.-
Entry RequirementsEntry Requirements
- Recognised marine engineering or naval architecture qualification, either through sea-going experience or an educational institution.
- Good understanding of shore-based operations e.g. dry-dock, ability to administer technical and budgetary requirements.
