Ramp Operator Job Description
- Conduct thorough pre-operation inspections of all ground support equipment to ensure it is in safe and efficient working order.
- Operate a variety of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) during ramp operations, including but not limited to aircraft towing vehicles, belt loaders, ground power units, and passenger steps with precision and safety.
- Inspect the equipment restraint area and the wider ramp environment for any Foreign Object Debris (FOD), potential obstacles, or spillages that could pose a risk to aircraft safety, personnel, or the integrity of ground operations.
- Utilise technological devices such as tablets, radios, and other communication tools to receive and respond to real-time operational information.
Note
Ramp Operators need to have good eyesight and hearing to be able to identify hazards quickly in the equipment restraint area.
