Communication Controller Job Description
  • Monitor the CCTV and communication and alert systems for rail incidents or accidents in stations or onboard trains.
  • Disseminate service announcements through public announcements or display systems on trains or MRT stations.
  • Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and regulations and the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Codes of Practice when carrying out duties.
  • Assist in investigations of rail incidents or accidents and escalate them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure the functionality and readiness of communication equipment.
  • Document relevant Operations Control Centre (OCC) activities.

 

Note

Communication Controllers must be able to identify colours. This is important as they are in charge of monitoring various systems, which requires good eyesight and attention to detail to avoid missing out on any key details.
