Key takeaways

Here are what youths learnt during the session:

1. Type of Institution: Within private education, there are two different degree programmes, Foreign universities with a Singapore campus that offer their own degrees and PEIs which partner with overseas universities to offer external degree programmes

2. Flexibilty: Private education offers students flexibility with shorter degree programmes and timetables that are less packed. Yet, academic rigour remains as many PEIs operate on a trimester system.

3. Career Preparation: Some PEIs and degree programmes may be more recognised by employers in Singapore than others. However, if you put yourself out there in the school community, take initiative to gain work experience and build your network with professors and alumni, you will have greater access to job opportunities upon graduation.
