About this programme

World X @ ITE offers a platform for Nitec and Higher Nitec students to network and connect with professionals from different sectors and roles, with a focus on jobs that the Higher Nitec students could potentially aspire towards as they enter the world of work. In the “Connections Zone”, students can approach many professionals to have conversations around their education and career journeys.

Key takeaways

1. Expanding Career Horizons for ITE Students

Over 1,400 ITE students from College East participated in this year’s programme. Through immersive zones and hands-on activities, they explored emerging career pathways and how different roles contribute to shaping the “Worlds of tomorrow.”

2. Meaningful Connections with Professionals

On average, each student built 3.4 meaningful connections with industry professionals. With over 150 volunteers across diverse sectors, students gained direct access to networks, resources, and opportunities that can support their next steps.

3. Inspiring Discovery and Preparedness

97% of participants reported discovering new and meaningful career options. The blend of career discovery, preparedness, and access gave students both clarity and motivation in their journeys, while also highlighting the qualifications and skills needed for different roles.

4. Real-World Career Exposure

From role-playing job tasters to guided networking sessions, students experienced first-hand what professionals do in their daily work. These activities deepened understanding of career pathways and helped students envision their own futures more concretely.

5. Strong Industry and Community Support

The programme was made possible by collaboration with industry and public sector partners such as ICA, Certis Cisco, HTX, Sembcorp Solar, SMF, Lenskart, and SATS. Their participation ensured that students engaged with real-world challenges and opportunities.

  1. Discover meaningful careers by exploring future worlds.
  2. Access networks and resources that open up opportunities.
