Overview
Law drafters support the government in drafting Singapore’s laws and translating public policies into legislation.
Description
- Advise the government and public sector agencies on developing legislative proposals.
- Draft all government bills and additional legislations including regulations, rules, and orders.
- Assist the government during the legislative process to help bills get passed in parliament.
- Ensure that new and existing laws are consistent with the constitution, current legal standards, and international law.
- Evaluate public policy proposals, ensuring they are practical and in accordance with the law.
Entry requirements
- You need at least a Bachelor's Degree in Law, must pass Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations, and be a "qualified person" as defined in the Legal Profession Act and Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules.
